1/17
Mudras, sculptural gestures and notes on a project in progress, investigating the perceptions, the use and the qualities of the plant aeilanthus in relation to the Derridean concept of pharmakon.
Known as a toxic parasitic tree in the West (βρωμόδεντρο, βρωμοκαρυδιά) and as the therapeutic “Tree of Heaven” in the East, aeilanthus is “a dangerous benefit and a beneficiar danger”, a medicine and a poison, a “medium in which differentiation in general is produced” (DIS 126/156).
